Precision Mask
Precision Mask
Master exact color control with AI-generated masks. Perfect for e-commerce, product photography, and brand-consistent color matching.
📋 What is Precision Mask?
Precision Mask mode allows you to apply exact color codes (hex, RGB) to specific objects in your photos. The AI automatically generates pixel-perfect masks around your selected objects, ensuring clean edges and professional results.
Best for:
- E-commerce product variations (show the same item in multiple colors)
- Brand color matching (apply exact hex codes)
- Solid color replacements
- Fast, predictable results
🚀 Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Upload Your Photo
- Click the "Upload" button or drag and drop your image
- Alternatively, paste an image from your clipboard (Ctrl/Cmd + V)
- Supported formats: JPG, PNG
- Max file size: 20MB
- Recommended: Use high-resolution images (1000px+ width) for best results
💡 Tip: Images with clear object boundaries work best. Avoid heavily blurred or low-contrast photos.
Step 2: Select the Object
Once your image is uploaded, you have two ways to select objects:
Option A: Type Object Name (Recommended)
- In the object selector, type what you want to recolor (e.g., "shoes", "car", "shirt")
- Click "Generate Mask" (costs 1 credit)
- Wait 2-3 seconds for mask generation
Option B: Choose from Presets
- Click the dropdown menu
- Select from common object categories (Clothing, Accessories, Vehicles, etc.)
- AI will detect all matching objects in your photo
💡 Tip: Be specific! "red sneakers" works better than just "shoes" if your image has multiple footwear items.
Step 3: Review and Refine the Mask
After AI generates the mask, you'll see a highlighted overlay on your selected object.
Check the Mask Quality
- Green overlay = Selected area
- Zoom in to check edges (use mouse wheel or pinch gesture)
- Verify the mask covers the entire object
Refine the Mask (if needed)
If the AI missed some areas or selected too much:
- Click "Fix Mask" button
- Use the Brush Tool to add areas:
- Click and drag to paint over missed spots
- Adjust brush size with the slider (10px - 100px)
- Use the Eraser Tool to remove unwanted areas:
- Click and drag to erase incorrectly selected regions
- Click "Apply" when satisfied
💡 Pro Tip: For complex objects (like lace or hair), use a smaller brush size (5-10px) for precise control.
Step 4: Pick Your Color
Now comes the fun part - choosing your new color!
Method 1: Pattern Colors (Recommended)
- Click any of the color circles in the toolbar
- These presets are optimized for common recoloring tasks
Method 2: Custom Color
- Click the multi-colored circle icon to open the full color picker
- Use your system's color dialog to:
- Pick any custom color from the spectrum
- Enter a specific Hex Code (e.g.,
#FF5733) - Use an eyedropper to match colors from screen
Step 5: Adjust Intensity
Fine-tune how the new color blends with the original:
- Use the "Intensity" slider (20% - 100%)
- Higher (80-100%): More vibrant, solid color application
- Lower (20-60%): More subtle, preserving more of the original texture
💡 Realistic Tip: Lower the intensity to 60-70% if you want the original object's texture and shadows to be more visible.
Step 6: Preview Your Changes
Before downloading, use these preview tools:

⚠️ Limitations
Precision Mask mode is not ideal for:
- ❌ Complex material transformations (use AI Magic instead)
- ❌ Adding metallic or glossy effects (use AI Magic)
- ❌ Photorealistic lighting changes (use AI Magic)
- ❌ Transparent or reflective objects (may require manual refinement)
When to switch to AI Magic? If you need more than a simple color swap - like turning matte fabric into metallic leather - AI Magic mode is your better choice.
